"Perhaps the best road-going Porsche yet" Motor Trend July 81

Welcome to turbo924.com!

This site is designed to document my Porsche 924 turbo project. I first became interested in the Porsche 924 cars from a Motor Trend article in July 1981. I was in high school and from that day I wanted one! The article talked about the 924 Carrera which still is one of the rarest Porsches ever made. The picture of the car was black and it looked so wicked. At the same time I was fascinated by all kinds of cars and different engines. Just after I graduated College, I became totally fascinated with the Buick V-6, especially with the Grand National Turbo. Some how I was going to get the best of both worlds....the fantastic drivability and handling of the 924/944 and the all out nasty engine power of the GM turbo V-6. Unfortunately money was very tight, how could I afford the world class performance of either of these cars?? I studied and bought every magazine and book I could find on these 2 cars. I think I have been a subscriber of Hot Rod and Car Craft since 1978! I have "built a couple basic cars but nothing fancy. Until I saw an article in September 1993 Kit Car magazine about a company called Renegade Hybrids. That was the car I was going to make!

In this site you will find as much information as I have gathered over the years related to Engines, Porsche 924/944's, Telematics (PC's in cars) and other "stuff"

Since I am a computer consultant specializing in Lotus Notes, I figured I would leverage the power of Domino and Net Objects Fusion to bring this site to life.

ENJOY!

This is what I hope you car will look like when I'm done! AWESOME! It is a replica of a 924 Carrera. Unfortunately, I can't remember where or who I got the picture from!
